Quote I Took From Todays Reading

An important quote in today reading was, "No, not where we are now but where you love me. " This shows that Amy is either still in love with him, which obviously she isn't, or that she is a different mental state and not all there. After she comes back on her own will her and her husband are surrounded by the press so they are both saying things that people would want to here. She is obviously a, "Crazy Psycho Bitch." As Nick would say. This quote will determine the outcome of the story, either he will love her again or he will try to get away from her somehow.

Description of the Main Character in Detail.

The main character in the story is Nick Dunne. He is a dynamic character with a few different misleading twists. At the start, it seems as if he is a good, true, loyal, loving husband. All of a sudden there is a twist and he is a cruel, twisted, deceiving fool. Physically he is a handsome, young but mature man with a good stature. Emotionally, towards the beginning he was crazy about his wife but then he falls out of love with her. He is on a emotional roller coaster, or a downward spiral in life. He has a young lover and a sweet, smart, beautiful wife. He is caught in between a love triangle and he is unhappy. Personality wise, he is not a bad guy. I believe that he just makes foolish decisions, it is not his fault for  falling out of love with his wife. He is caught in a large amount of hard situations in this story. He is a good person, that lands "In the wrong place at the wrong time."

One Object That Symbolizes the Story

An object that I would choose to symbolize this story is Karma. By Karma I mean payback and revenge about doing the right or wrong thing. The revenge in this story is a little more extreme than it should be. Since Nick cheats on his wife and acts loyal and faithful he  gets what he deserves. He is deceiving to his wife when he lies and tells her, "I was out playing poker with the guys." As soon as Amy finds the note with the number on it the tone of the story portrays that something big is going to happen. Amy is acting recklessly and stupid so the author foreshadows her actions. The Karma represents this story because, so far, it is the main theme of all that has happened. It represents both Nick and Amy, and their actions.

What Does the Dialogue Tell Me About the Characters.

The dialogue in the story is more of a formal verse. Even when Nick and Amy are talking towards the beginning at each other the dialogue is awkward. It is also very boring and complex. Later on in the story when they argue at each other it has very adult language. There is a lot of obscenity and explicit gestures. From what I have heard  and learned from others later on in the story there is more adult language. I like the dialogue sometimes, when they are happy with each other it is funny and makes you think. I like the vocabulary usage and amount of jokes and the dialogue shows how bored and upset the characters are.

Would I Choose the Main Character of the Story to be My Friend?

No, I would not choose the main character of the story to be my friend. Amy is very tricky and hard to follow. She is a 2-faced person and seems like she would go behind peoples backs. Her husband kind of deserves what is coming to him but what she does is majorly wrong. She sets up a whole scandal and framing of him just to get back at him, if I was her friend I would be afraid to make a mistake around her because I would think she would get back at me in a very complex way. In order to be her friend you would have to think before every action  you made. For these reasons I would not want her to accompany me as a friend.

What Will Happen Next?

During today's reading I learned that Amy goes missing. I am going to infer that her husband, Nick, is going to either be framed, or a suspect to her disappearance. There is no supporting evidence or clues that would show me where she has disappeared to or who has taken her. I'm very excited to see what happens next whether I am right or not. I believe that Nick will be taken into custody because the officers seem weary and suspicious of him. This story has a huge amount of loose ends. I am excited to figure out what is going to happen.

What I do/don't like about this story.

There are a few things about this story that I don't understand and don't like. I don't like how there are two different points of view, one of Amy and one of Nick. Also, there are the points of view from different time frames and its confusing. I like the characters and the complexity of the actions they portray. It is a very adult book and I like it. There is a very large amount of loose ends but they will come together as the story goes on.

What a Character in My Book Would be Like as an Old Person

The person I am choosing to write about is Nick. I am choosing this because, as an old person, he would be very sarcastic and funny. I like him so far in this story and his personality is entertaining. As an old person, with grandchildren and the such, he would be funny. I think towards his children he would be funny but he would also be responsible and a little strict. He seems like the type of person who gets things done while having fun at the same time. He would be a lot more youthful than his age would reveal. I think that he would be somewhat close to his family while maintaining a distance. His family would enjoy his presence and like being around him. I think that he may be lonely due to the fact that he cheats and isn't loyal so he may not have a family. He has a good personality he is just caught up in stress.

If I were to suggest this to a friend

If I were to suggest this story to a friend, which I very well may do, I would have a lot to say. I would more than likely recommend this to a guy because it would relate more. This story is a good way to show his trials and tribulations of Jon Grudens life. Many people don't know who he is but some football fans would. I would say that this story has a good theme of never quit or give up. Also I think that it shows how if something is tough it is better to work through it than give up. Jon Gruden goes from a "Ham and Eggs" division III quarterback to a small town coach and works his way up to being a super bowl champion coach. It does a good job showing his work ethic, passion and love for the game.

An Alternate Setting To This Book

If I were to create an alternate setting to this book I would set it in a big city in modern times. Things would be the same, like her feelings wouldn't change and neither would her sons actions. There would be tons of differences though. Everyone in the story would have technology and the law would take over. The whole story would be entirely different.

What does the dialogue tell me

There are multiple extended and different dialogues in this story. The story kind of breaks off into different parts. In the beginning the dialogue and how people speak and act is like today but set in a more futuristic time and place. After around 150 pages the story turns into a prologue and shows what happened before hand. The words they use are very old fashioned and give me a mid-evil feeling. They don't speak as if they have been educated. For example, there is a little girl and she doesn't know what the color yellow is. They use very small and non complex sentences. All the actions they do in the story and medicine they use is very old fashioned.

Main Characters most pressing problem

In this story there is only 2 main conflicts, or problems. One problem, an external conflict is that the whole entire place that Claire lives in is full of equality and nobody is much different. That is important, but the main conflict that I believe will lead to the climax is her son. I think that this is more important because of how much she loves him. I think that she will be willing to die for him. Her son is going to end up being the main character later on I believe.

How would I solve the problem

If I were a character in the story the main problem would be trying to get Cheyenne back home. If I were to see her getting kidnapped I would try to get someone to call the cops and then try to overpower him. If I were to come upon her at the house I would call the cops, give them the address of the house that she is at and then I would hide. It would be pretty challenging to help her since she is blind and also surrounded by 3 murderers. Towards the end Griffin turns into a good guy so we could band into a team. Cheyenne is a smart girl so I don't think that it would be too hard to help her.

Character I Dislike

One character I really dislike in the story is Roy. There is many reasons why I don't like him. One, he is a criminal and a bad person. Two, he pretty much raised his son Griffin to be a criminal and kidnapper. Griffin is a good person, but he is pressured into vandalism by his dad. I also do not like how Roy treats Cheyenne, because she is blind and only 16. Roy and all his friends are disrespectful to her even though she did nothing wrong.

Main Conflict

If I had to choose  the main conflict of this story thus far It would be between Cheyenne and her kidnapper. I'm not very far into the story yet but it is pretty obvious. It became evident that these two obviously were not going to like each other. Cheyenne didn't really have much say in this conflict considering that she was kidnapped and she's blind. The kidnapper brought this conflict together by trying to steal her mothers car. I feel like the story is going to be based off of this because that's what the title is about.

Teacher and Main Character

One teacher that I think would get along well with the main character in the book is Mr. Sconsa. The main character in my nook is Alex and he is very adventurous and outgoing. Mr. Sconsa is a different type of person and I think he could relate well to Alex because they both know random stuff. Both of them are well humored and quick witted. They are both also very smart and fast thinking. These are some reasons why I think Mr. Sconsa and Alex would get along well.

Would I Like to read More By This Author

Would I like to read more by this author? Yes, he is very thrilling and suspenseful. This is the first work of his that I have read. I am not sure if he has any other works, but if he does then I would enjoy it. His writing style is what I like to read. I like how detailed he is when explaining how things happen. I can read a lot of his story without stopping and he really pulls me in. His word choice is really good and realistic. These are my kinds of stories that I enjoy.

Childhood with Alex

Would I have enjoyed growing up with the main character? I believe that I would have, he is really cool. Also,  he doesn't seem like too bad of a guy. We share a lot of interests. For example, he is in taekwando, I play many different sports. He seems like a smart guy, and he shows a lot of respect towards his peers. If he was my older sibling he would be a role model.

If You Were Stranded On A Deserted Island Which Character Would I Want With Me.

If I were to be stranded on an island with a person from this story, I would choose Darla. I would pick this due to her immense amount of skills. She has a very large amount of abilities that she exceeds in, and she is well rounded in a lot of stuff. She is very smart and durable. I would also think that her craftiness and creativeness would help me survive on an island. The story shows this because it illustrates how Darla and Alex use their skills together to survive. She is also very mentally tough as she demonstrates after her mother dies. I think she would help me more than anyone else.

What Are Three Big Questions You Have At This Time

If I had to choose three questions right now, I would ask, " Where is the main characters family at? "
I would ask this because that is what the whole story is revolving around right now. I find this very interesting as this is the main plot of the story thus far. My next question would be, " Who was target working for."
My reasoning for this question is because Target almost killed him and he also killed Darla's mother. The last question I would ask is, " Are Darla and Alex going to date. "
I have been wondering this for a while and would like to see it happen. I could ask many more but these are my three main questions.
